In clinical practice, the blood HCG test is done mainly by drawing blood from a vein, which is not related to the diet, so it can be done without fasting. If there is a positive result, you can take another blood test every other day. If the value of HCG doubles every other day, there is a high possibility of intrauterine pregnancy, so don’t worry. If there are no other clinical symptoms, you can go back to the hospital for an ultrasound examination at about 45-50 days after menopause to see if the size of the gestational sac matches the number of days after menopause. In clinical practice, if the blood HCG is given after ectopic pregnancy, it is also recommended to review it regularly. In the case of ectopic pregnancy, the blood HCG will normally show a gradual decrease.
