Chicken Nei Jin for regulating the spleen and stomach

It can be used to regulate the spleen and stomach by decocting and taking it internally, or grinding it into powder or adding it into pills or powder, etc. It is also used for food accumulation (the accumulation of food in the stomach due to indigestion) which is not resolved by digestion, and can be combined with hawthorn and shen qu.
Chicken Neijin has the efficacy of astringent essence and stopping spermatorrhea (consolidating semen and preventing spermatorrhea), strengthening the stomach and eliminating food, and clearing lymphatic discharge and dissolving stones.
It is used in treating food stagnation, diarrhea, vomiting, noma (a kind of chronic disease of children, manifesting as emaciation, abnormal diet, abdominal distension, thinning and yellowing of hair, etc.), spermatorrhea, enuresis, biliary distension and dystocia (pain in the area of the ribs), stonelike gonorrhea (discharging gravel during urination, or sudden interruption of urination, with pain in the urinary tract, intolerable pain in the lumbar and abdominal stranguria), and astringent pain.
It can be used as a decoction for internal use or as a powder.
For those with mild symptoms of unsettled food stagnation, it can be used alone as a powder. If the accumulation of food does not dissolve, with no thought of food and drink, and the epigastrium (stomach and abdomen) is distended and full, it is often combined with hawthorn, shenqiu, and mai bud. If accompanied by diarrhea and vomiting, it can be combined with hemixia, patchouli, and Houpu. For children with spleen deficiency and noma, it can be paired with spleen-enhancing drugs such as Codonopsis, Atractylodes macrocephala, Chinese yam and Poria to tonify but not stagnate.
Adverse effects of Chicken Neijin are not clear, and it should be used with caution for those with spleen deficiency without stagnation. Chicken Neijin is used to regulate the spleen and stomach, and should be used according to the condition and evidence.
