How to tell if an eight-month-old baby has high dystonia in the back

Whether an eight-month-old baby has high muscle tone in the back can be judged from specific clinical manifestations, such as corrugator, thumb inversion and difficulty in dressing.
1. Dorsiflexion: when the baby has increased muscle tone in the back, the baby’s head may be tilted back in the supine position, the back lifted upward, and the limbs bent backward, and other symptoms of dorsiflexion may appear.
2. Thumbs inward: If the baby’s thumbs are still inward after the baby is more than 4 months old, it should be suspected that the baby has dystonia.
3. Difficulty in dressing: When you bend your baby’s legs or arms when dressing him/her, you will feel an obvious sense of resistance in the limbs, which is also a symptom of increased dystonia.
Baby dystonia may be due to the baby’s brain development delay or central nervous system abnormalities caused by the need to go to the hospital in a timely manner to clarify the diagnosis, and timely compliance with the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment, so as not to miss the opportunity for treatment.
