Agatroban is used to improve ulceration, rest pain and coldness in the upper and lower extremities of patients with chronic arterial occlusive disease, thrombo-occlusive vasculitis and occlusive atherosclerosis; it is used to improve neurological symptoms and daily activities such as walking and standing in patients in the acute phase of ischemic cerebral infarction within 2 days of onset. Agatroban is clinically indicated for: acute ischemic stroke; chronic peripheral arterial occlusive disease; adjuvant therapy for thrombolysis in patients with myocardial infarction; heparin-induced thrombocytopenia and thrombotic syndrome. With this drug, it should be noted that it should be used with caution in patients with severe hypertension and after spinal anesthesia, especially after major surgery; a reduced dose is recommended for patients with hepatic insufficiency who need to use argatroban, but no dose adjustment is required for elderly patients and patients with renal insufficiency who use argatroban.
