Autumn and winter precautions for patients with interstitial lung disease

Currently most patients with interstitial lung disease can be controlled by regular treatment of the disease, with significantly longer survival time, then, in the coming autumn and winter, and how to do self-protection with drug therapy to reduce the onset of acute exacerbations of the disease? 1, prevention of infection It is currently believed that pulmonary infection is an important cause of acute exacerbation during the treatment of interstitial lung disease. Patients may experience varying degrees of immune compromise during treatment and are prone to complications of respiratory tract infections, so improving respiratory immunity to disease-causing microorganisms is essential. In addition to the use of a series of drugs to enhance respiratory immunity, patients need to take part in moderate exercise in winter and autumn to improve lung capacity and endurance. Increase and decrease clothing according to the changing weather and the large temperature difference between day and night to prevent upper respiratory tract infections. Avoid going to noisy public places or places with poor air circulation. When you are at home, you should open the windows regularly to keep the indoor air fresh. In addition, we should try to cultivate an optimistic attitude towards things, including the correct face of their own disease, to maintain a relaxed mood every day, full of spirit is also a solid barrier to prevent and cure disease. In terms of medicine, you can use immune-enhancing drugs such as panflux orally, and you can also get pneumococcal vaccine and influenza vaccine regularly to improve the body’s ability to resist disease. 2, balanced diet Patients with interstitial lung disease should ensure nutritional calories in their diet while trying to be as light and tasty as possible, and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. However, it should be noted that the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables must be in moderation, over-eating or overeating will affect health. In addition, fresh fruits contain high sugar content, combined with diabetes or cardiovascular disease patients must be careful to eat. Chinese medicine believes that the lungs are respiratory, the lungs intake of clear gas, depending on the intake of the kidneys, so it is said that “the kidneys are the main gas”. If the lung is deficient for a long time, the kidney will also be deficient, resulting in shortness of breath, shortness of breath, lumbar soreness and weakness, and the kidney’s inability to absorb qi will be aggravated by movement. In the book “Treatment of the evidence? Asthma evidence” cloud: “the lung is the main gas, the kidney is the root of the gas, the lung is the main out of the gas, the kidney is the main gas, Yin and Yang, breathing is and, if the lifting and lowering of the out of the normal, the gas is carried forward”, so the use of food regimen in autumn and winter is very important. There are also ancient books “autumn dry, it is appropriate to eat hemp to moisten its dryness” of the statement. The “hemp” refers to sesame. Of course, not only limited to sesame, other lungs and moisten, nourishing Yin and dry food can be eaten. Such as pear, citrus, pomegranate and jujube, etc., has the effect of moistening the lung and stopping cough, clearing heat and generating fluid, softening phlegm; apples, dairy, sesame, fresh vegetables and other soft food to maintain the normal secretion of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, to prevent sore throat. 3, adequate sleep Sleep is an important means to ensure health and enhance the immunity of the body. In autumn and winter, the climate is cooler and the weather conditions for sleep improve, but if proper attention is not paid, the quality of sleep will be affected. Therefore, autumn sleep should pay attention to avoid eating before going to bed, eating before going to bed will increase the burden on the stomach and intestines, easy to cause indigestion, harmful to the body, but also affect the sleep. Avoid drinking tea at night and emotional excitement before bedtime, the emotional ups and downs before bedtime will cause disorders of Qi and blood, resulting in insomnia, but also damage to the body. So before going to bed stress quit worrying and anxiety or emotional excitement. Do not cover your face when you sleep, sleep with a quilt covering the face will make it difficult to breathe, the interstitial lung disease patients are even worse, the body will be aggravated by the lack of oxygen, extremely detrimental to health. In addition, sleep avoid blowing wind, the human body in the sleep state to environmental changes in the ability to adapt to reduce, easy to get cold, so pay attention to warmth when sleeping, do not let the wind blowing directly. 4, moderate exercise interstitial lung disease patients with varying degrees of decline in lung function, the autumn season, if you adhere to the appropriate physical exercise, not only can regulate the heart and lungs, appropriate to improve lung function, but also to enhance the immune function of the tissues and organs and the body’s ability to resist external cold stimuli. However, due to the large temperature difference between morning and evening in autumn, the climate is dry, for patients with interstitial lung disease, in order to receive good fitness effects, need to be measured, you can walk, play tai chi and jogging activities. Throughout the day, if you have 1-2 hours to go outside to breathe fresh air, including about 40 minutes for jogging, walking, playing tai chi and other activities, fitness will be enhanced, reducing the chance of co-infection. Of course, patients with interstitial lung disease need to pay attention to the following points. First of all, attention needs to be paid to prevent sports injuries, interstitial lung disease patients taking corticosteroids for a long time, there may be bone calcium loss, prone to pathological fractures, the need to control the amount of exercise and exercise intensity to avoid fractures. Secondly, you need to prevent cold and flu, the temperature is low in the early morning of autumn and winter, you should increase or decrease your clothes according to the temperature change outdoors. It is not advisable to take off too much at once when exercising, you should wait for your body to heat up before taking off too many clothes. Do not wear sweaty clothes in the cold wind after exercise to prevent the body from catching cold, leading to respiratory infections and acute aggravation of interstitial lung disease. Again, after exercise, but also more water, supplemented by a small amount, many times, slow drink as a guideline. After each exercise should eat more nourishing, moisten the lungs, replenish fluids and produce fluid food, such as pears, sesame, honey, silver fungus, etc.. 5, if there are changes in the condition, timely medical consultation Similar to all respiratory diseases, patients with interstitial lung disease are more likely to have acute exacerbations in the fall and winter. If an acute exacerbation occurs, it is vital to seek timely medical attention. This will give the clinician valuable time and opportunity to reverse and control the progression of the disease. Some patients will not be seen until the disease has progressed to the point of irreversibility, at which point the physician’s role will be limited. In recent years, the Department of Respiratory Medicine at our hospital has conducted a series of studies to address the international challenge of interstitial lung disease and has accumulated a wealth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Since 2000, our hospital has been a national leader in the diagnosis and treatment of interstitial lung disease, in clinical and scientific research, and in the ILD statistics of ten large hospitals nationwide, reported at the annual national respiratory conference held in Shenyang in September 2004, our hospital provided the first cases nationwide. The number of patients with interstitial lung disease accounted for about 40% of the hospitalized patients in the same period. More than 50% of the patients come from outside Shanghai, forming a de facto clinical center for interstitial lung disease in Shanghai and even in East China. At present, our department is the vice chairman of the Interstitial Diseases Group of the National Respiratory Society, the chairman of the East China Interstitial Diseases Collaborative Group, and the chairman of the Interstitial Diseases Group of the Shanghai Pulmonology Branch. Our department has a sincere and cooperative medical team, dedicated to relieving the pain of patients with interstitial lung disease. (Huiping Li, Jinfu Xu) (Xinmin Evening News)
