What to do if you have diarrhea when it’s hot or cold

There are many causes of diarrhea when it is cold and hot, and some common ones are irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and acute enteritis. General treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment can be used to relieve.
1. Irritable bowel syndrome: Remove the triggering factors such as cold stimulation, high mental stress, etc., and establish good living habits and dietary structure. Patients with diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome can use antidiarrheal agents such as cotrimoxazole and montelukast. Meanwhile, probiotics such as Saccharomyces boulardii can be used to regulate intestinal homeostasis.
2. Inflammatory bowel disease: mainly including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, acute stage may have diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever; can use salazosulfapyridine to control mild to moderate active inflammatory bowel disease, can also be used to prednisone and other glucocorticosteroid treatment; accompanied by perforation, hemorrhage, etc. need to consider surgical treatment.
3. Acute enteritis: it occurs in summer and fall and is often triggered by unhygienic eating. In the acute stage, fasting is generally recommended to replenish water and prevent electrolyte disorders through rehydration. Meanwhile, if there is a combination of bacterial infection, antibiotics such as ofloxacin should be used for anti-infection treatment.
If the patient has recurrent symptoms such as abnormal frequency of bowel movements and abnormal shape of bowel movements, he/she should go to the hospital in time for relevant examinations to identify the cause of the disease and then carry out standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor. The above drugs should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
