Laser surgery on the cervix is not painful because there are no painful nerves in the cervical tissue. When laser surgery is done to remove the erosion surface or polyps or cysts from the surface of the cervix, there will only be bleeding that occurs during the surgery, which can be stopped with the laser. Women with chronic inflammation of the cervix, such as cervical erosion, cervical hypertrophy, cervical cysts, cervical polyps, etc. should undergo trans-cervical TCT and colposcopic biopsy. Chronic inflammation of the cervix can be treated with laser therapy. If there is severe atypical hyperplasia or carcinoma in situ of the cervix, laser therapy should not be used which can lead to the spread of tumor cells. Women should also pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene after the laser treatment procedure, as there may be increased vaginal discharge after crusting.
