Dry rhinitis is a chronic nasal disease characterized by dryness of the nasal mucosa and reduced secretions, but without atrophy of the nasal mucosa and turbinates.
The occurrence of dry rhinitis is more related to the patient’s general physical condition, the external climate and environmental conditions. The incidence of dry rhinitis is higher in areas with a dry, cold climate or a large temperature difference between day and night; people who live and work in a more polluted environment or have a habit of smoking are also prone to dry rhinitis; if the human body is deficient in vitamins, it will lead to dryness and degeneration of the epithelium of the nasal mucosa, which will also cause dry rhinitis. The main symptom of dry rhinitis is a dry feeling in the nasal cavity; due to the dryness of the nasal mucosa, there is little nasal mucosa and there can be many blood crusts or scabs. Due to the dryness of the nasal mucosa, capillary brittleness increases and a very small injury can cause the occurrence of rhinorrhea. Itchy nasal cavity may also occur.
