How to tell if your baby has flat feet

Clinical symptoms, footprint method, X-ray, CT and other related examinations can be combined to determine flat feet.
1. Symptoms: Children with flat feet are prone to clinical symptoms such as swelling of the ankle joint, pain in the middle of the foot, bunions, and decreased athletic ability.
2. Footprint method: After soaking the foot in water or dipping it in printing clay, let the child stand on white paper and measure the ratio of the width of the blank area of the arch to the largest area of the footprint. Flat feet should be 1:1 or 1:2.
3. X-rays: The structure of the arch can be visualized by doing an X-ray of the lateral aspect of the foot and measuring the change in the angle of the arch.
4. CT: CT examination is clearer than X-ray and can show the bony anatomical structures better, which is important in determining whether your baby has flat feet.
There may be other clinical methods to determine whether a baby has flat feet. Parents are advised to take their children to the pediatrics and orthopedics department of the hospital as soon as possible to improve the relevant examinations under the guidance of professional doctors to clarify the changes in the condition.
