Can a ruptured eyeball be cured?

Whether a ruptured eyeball can be cured depends largely on the severity of the rupture. If the rupture is only small, it may be possible to restore the intact structure through surgery. However, if the rupture is more severe, there may be no way to restore normal eye structures, especially non-renewable eye structures such as the corneal stroma and retina. If there is no way to restore the normal structures of the eye, function is usually lost. In some people, there is no way to maintain the eye after rupture and eye removal is required. In others, the injury is less severe and the ruptured eyeball can be surgically restored to its full structure, but it is not certain that function can be restored to what it was before the injury, and it will depend on what happens after the surgery.
