How to diagnose nerve entrapment

Nerve entrapment can be diagnosed by clinical symptoms and signs, electrophysiologic examination and imaging examination.
1. Clinical symptoms and signs: patients with nerve entrapment often show pain and abnormal sensation in the area innervated by the entrapped nerve, or loss of sensation, and pain is caused by hitting the site of nerve entrapment with a small hammer.
2. Electrophysiological examination: electrophysiological examination reveals that there are obvious differences in the conduction speed and frequency of a certain nerve above and below the site of entrapment, which can be used as a proof of the diagnosis of nerve entrapment.
3. Imaging examination: Nerve entrapment can be detected by CT, MRI, ultrasound and other imaging examinations, and edema and other manifestations may occur at the site of entrapment.
If you suspect nerve entrapment, you need to go to the hospital for professional examination for diagnosis.
