Surgery on the chest is usually painful. If there is obvious pain after surgery, you can take painkillers orally as appropriate. You can also cough with your hand over the wound and bend down in a bent position to reduce the vibration of the chest wall and thus reduce the pain in the chest. Correct and active coughing is beneficial to the early recovery of postoperative pneumothorax, so patients must not refuse to cough for fear of pain. Correct coughing can allow early reopening of the lung and thus early removal of the drainage tube. On the basis of proper analgesia, more coughing is encouraged to strive for early removal of the chest drain to relieve pain.
