Determining which tooth hurts can be done through probing, hot/cold examination, and imaging.
1. Probing: If you want to check which tooth hurts, you can generally use a special probe for dentistry to check the adjacent neck of the tooth, the embedded part of the tooth, the overlapping part of the tooth and all the hidden parts, the tooth tissues at the edge of the denture abutment and the defective restoration, the teeth with full crowns and worn-out crowns as well as the surfaces of the maxillofacial region, and you will be able to find out the abnormal parts of the tooth body.
2. Hot and Cold Diagnosis: Checking the response of the teeth with hot and cold stimuli, if which tooth is uncomfortable, it means which tooth is causing the pain.
3. Imaging: If there is a neighboring cavity or a broken root and the inside of the gums cannot be observed, imaging can be chosen to help diagnose which tooth is causing the pain.
It is recommended that in case of severe toothache, you need to go to a regular hospital in time for examination and treatment.
