“The diagnostic criteria for adrenal enlargement on CT are as follows.
On CT, the right side of the adrenal gland is mostly oblique, with an inverted “V” or inverted “Y” shape; the left side is mostly inverted “V”, inverted “Y” and triangular, with smooth and slightly concave or convex edges, normal lateral limb width is 6-8 mm, and the maximum cross-sectional area is 30-150 mm2.
If thickening of the adrenal gland is present, its lateral limb width and/or area is higher than these normal values, but the echogenicity, density and signal intensity can be similar to that of a normal adrenal gland.”
