Tonsil surgery is a routine procedure in otolaryngology. Indications for surgery include recurrent inflammation of the tonsils, breathing difficulties caused by excessive hypertrophy, and tonsil tumors. The time for the formation of the white film after surgery is about 48 hours, but shedding needs to vary from person to person, and generally patients can shed it about 10 days after surgery. The formation of white film is directly related to the patient’s postoperative eating habits. More consideration should be given to let the patient eat and feed more often in order to stimulate the proliferation of the white film, while taking antibiotics to avoid local infection of the tonsillar cavity and rinsing the mouth after meals.
