Can a normal abdominal ultrasound rule out cirrhosis?

Abdominal ultrasound can detect most of the cirrhosis, but normal abdominal ultrasound can not completely exclude cirrhosis.
Cirrhosis ultrasound, early can see liver enlargement, liver parenchyma echogenicity dense, enhancement, thickening, liver shrinkage in advanced cirrhosis, liver surface is not smooth, liver parenchyma echogenicity is not uniform, the surface can be seen nodular or jagged and other changes. Normal abdominal ultrasound examination is generally not considered the presence of cirrhosis, but clinically there are a small number of patients with early cirrhosis ultrasound may not be obvious abnormalities.
The diagnosis of liver cirrhosis depends on the history, symptoms, signs, laboratory tests and liver imaging tests, etc. Simply normal abdominal ultrasound can not completely exclude cirrhosis, if there is a high-risk history and clinical manifestations, the doctor should make a clear diagnosis through comprehensive analysis.
