What to do if your baby has a recurring fever, cough and runny nose

Recurrent fever, cough and runny nose in babies are mainly caused by acute upper respiratory tract infection, tuberculosis and Kawasaki disease. You should consult a doctor in time to find out the cause and treat it.
1. Acute upper respiratory tract infection: mainly viral infection, manifested by fever, sore throat, cough, nasal congestion and runny nose, etc., which can usually be cured by itself. Drink plenty of water and eat light food. If the fever is more than 38.5℃, you can take ibuprofen and acetaminophen to reduce the fever.
2. Tuberculosis: caused by inflammation due to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, mainly coughing up sputum with blood in sputum, accompanied by low fever, night sweats, emaciation and other symptoms. According to the doctor’s advice, take rifampicin, isoniazid and other drugs to relieve the symptoms.
3. Kawasaki disease: after being infected by the virus, it will cause the body’s immune response and damage the small blood vessels in the body, thus causing recurrent abrasions, cough, runny nose and other symptoms, which can be treated with aspirin, immunoglobulin and other medicines under the guidance of a doctor.
Babies with recurrent fever, cough and runny nose symptoms need to go to the hospital in time to identify the cause and take the correct treatment measures to avoid delaying the condition, leading to serious consequences.
