Does wisdom tooth extraction affect IQ?

Doctors working in oral surgery clinics often encounter such questions from patients, “Will my IQ decrease after wisdom teeth extraction?” “Will I become stupid if I have my wisdom teeth removed?” “Will wisdom tooth extraction affect my brain?” Most people who have such questions are confused by the word “wisdom” in wisdom teeth. In fact, wisdom teeth have another scientific name “third molars”, the reason why it is called wisdom teeth is because the four third molars just about 18-20 years old when they begin to erupt, when the physical and psychological development of people close to maturity, so it is seen as a symbol of the “arrival of wisdom” Therefore, it is called “wisdom teeth”, the teeth of wisdom. Generally speaking, there are four wisdom teeth, and most of them erupt symmetrically from left to right. However, there are few people who have only one, two or three wisdom teeth. If wisdom teeth are related to IQ, then isn’t it true that people with four wisdom teeth are much smarter than people with one wisdom tooth? If that’s the case I suggest you write down that you have four wisdom teeth next time you do your resume, so HR will look up to you. A wisdom tooth is just an ordinary tooth that erupts much later than other teeth and happens to have a fancy name, which is not necessarily related to the IQ of each person. So why would an oral surgeon recommend extraction if it’s just an ordinary tooth? It is because besides the time of its eruption, its position and direction of eruption are different from other teeth, because it is at the very back, so sometimes the space needed for its eruption is not enough, so its direction of eruption is mostly crooked, and it cannot grow out completely, which will lead to various problems, so the dentist will recommend the extraction of the wisdom tooth that is not in the right direction.
