The pelvis requires measurement of the anteroposterior diameter of the inlet, the transverse diameter of the outlet plane, and the transverse diameter of the mid-pelvic plane to determine suitability for normal delivery. The anterior and posterior pelvic inlet diameters are related to the entry of the fetus into the pelvis. When the anterior and posterior diameters are greater than 11 cm, the fetus can enter the pelvis normally. The transverse diameter of the mid-pelvic plane is the smallest plane in the female pelvis. Generally, the fetus can pass through the mid-pelvic plane without any problem, and if the transverse diameter of the mid-pelvic plane is greater than 10cm, the labor can be normal. If the transverse diameter of the pelvic plane is greater than 10cm, labor can be normal. Measurement of the pelvis requires the use of a special soft ruler and measuring tools, measurement of pregnant women need to lie on their backs, legs bent, thighs close to the abdomen, buttocks elevated to facilitate the examination. All of the above tests need to be judged by a professional doctor. If the baby’s weight is too big or the pelvis is too small, it is necessary to end the pregnancy through cesarean section.
