Tibial plateau fracture is treated conservatively and it takes at least 6~8 weeks before functional exercises can be performed.
After tibial fracture, there is bone scab growth only at the fracture site. Whether there is bone scab growth at the fracture site is affected by the patient’s age, severity of injury and nutritional factors in addition to the time factor. To judge the fracture healing, we need to take radiographs to see whether the fracture line is fuzzy, if the fracture line is fuzzy, it means that there is bone scab growth, or else there is none.
If there is no scab growth at the fracture site and the patient carries out functional exercise, it will affect the delayed healing of the fracture or even non-healing, which may lead to serious re-fracture, so we need to wait until there is scab growth at the fracture site to carry out exercise.
Patients usually have discomfort, timely to the hospital, so as not to delay the treatment.
