Can Lung Cancer Patients Have Hernia Surgery?

If the lung cancer patient is in the early to middle stage of the disease and his physical condition permits, he can usually have hernia surgery. If they are in the terminal stage of lung cancer and in poor physical condition, they cannot have hernia surgery. It should be decided by the doctor after evaluation.

Usually, patients with early to middle stage lung cancer can have hernia surgery after doctor’s evaluation if their physical condition allows. For lung cancer patients with hernia, conservative treatment should be tried first. If the conservative treatment is ineffective or the condition is serious, surgery can be performed after doctor’s evaluation and checking the contraindications, but not blind surgical treatment.

For some patients with advanced and terminal lung cancer, they cannot tolerate hernia surgery due to low immunity and poor physical condition, so hernia surgery is usually not allowed or advocated. Therefore, hernia surgery is usually not advocated. For these patients, clinical treatment is also used to alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms by symptomatic treatment.

If lung cancer patients with hernia want to know whether they can undergo surgery, they need to consult regular hospitals for examination and exclude contraindications to surgery. During the treatment period, patients should maintain physical and mental happiness, appropriate exercise and balanced intake of nutrients.
