A newborn is born with an infrequent and very rare skull depression fracture, also known as a ping-pong ball-like fracture, which is a specific type of skull fracture. A neonatal depressed skull fracture is the result of an inward depression of the membranous skull, similar to a green branch fracture of the long bones in children. There are many causes, such as birth injury, severe calcium deficiency, external factors and so on. 1. Birth injury: If the head of the fetus is very big or the birth canal of the mother is very narrow, it is easy for the fetus to be difficult to be born, and the long labor process or the improper use of forceps and other assistive devices can cause the skull depression fracture of the fetus. In order to avoid this, oxytocin should be added to speed up the labor process. If the fracture has occurred, it can be healed by itself if the degree is mild, but should be treated with surgery if it is serious. 2. Severe calcium deficiency may lead to rickets, which is manifested as ping-pong ball fracture, i.e. the head is compressed and deformed in the form of a ping-pong ball, but there is no obvious fracture line. The skull of newborn babies is soft and flexible, not easy to tear, so it will not be completely fractured. It is necessary to supplement vitamin D and calcium gluconate oral solution in time, more sunshine, and close observation, and go to the hospital for regular treatment. 3. External factors such as external impact or extrusion, or the fetus fell from the bed to the ground, can also lead to head depression fracture, which is the need for active treatment, timely medical care, so as not to delay the condition.
