High thyroid peroxidase

Thyroid peroxidase, the enzyme that catalyzes thyroid hormones, is high and will promote the synthesis of thyroid hormones, leading to hyperthyroidism. It usually results in an exuberant body metabolism, increased appetite, more frequent stools, loose stools, weight loss, and individual patients may develop hypothermia, fear of heat, and sweating. Tachycardia, irritability, agitation, and finger tremors may also occur. The eyes may protrude, and in severe cases, thyroid crisis may occur. It can be treated with drugs that inhibit thyroid peroxidase activity
