What do you know about shingles?

Why do I get shingles? The disease is caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. When the body’s resistance decreases, the latent virus is activated and travels down the sensory nerve to the skin in the area innervated by that nerve, producing blisters, along with inflammation and necrosis of the affected nerve and neuralgia. What are the clinical manifestations? Erythema, blistering, distribution along the nerve, burning sensation of the skin, neuralgia. Which diseases should be differentiated? In the stentorian stage, when blisters are not present, it is often mistaken for angina pectoris, intercostal neuralgia, cholecystitis, appendicitis, urinary tract stones, sciatica, etc. How to treat systematically? 1.Anti-viral treatment; nerve nutrition treatment; 2.Chinese herbal soup decoction; 3.Therapeutic methods: interception, acupuncture, cupping, special Chinese medicine rubbing to relieve neuralgia; 4.TDP, semiconductor laser. What are the precautions? Elderly and frail patients need to be alert to the occurrence of visceral tumors. Keep the sore surface clean, relaxed and avoid straining; eat a light diet and avoid spicy and fishy foods.
