Acyclovir can be used to treat herpes zoster. Acyclovir includes topical acyclovir cream or oral acyclovir tablets. Herpes zoster is a viral infection caused by varicella zoster virus infection with unilateral patches of erythema on the skin and clustered blisters, accompanied by significant pain as the main clinical manifestation. Treatment is based on antiviral and neurotrophic drugs, including antiviral drugs such as acyclovir tablets or vasiclovir hydrochloride tablets, and topical antiviral drugs such as acyclovir cream or penciclovir cream.
