What Causes Acne on Arms

Acne-like rashes on the arms may be caused by perifollicular keratosis or folliculitis.
1. Perifollicular keratosis: this is a chronic follicular keratosis pilaris, which is related to heredity, vitamin deficiency and other factors, and manifests itself as a follicular papule of the size of a needle tip to a grain of corn, with a light brown keratin plug at the tip, which can be treated by the use of medicines such as retinoic acid ointment, salicylic acid ointment and other medicines.
2. Folliculitis: mostly due to local hair destruction or pore blockage, poor pore drainage leading to bacterial growth and inflammation, manifested as red follicular papules, can be treated by using fusidic acid cream, adapalene ointment, erythromycin ointment and other drugs.
