How to prevent “mouse hand”?

       With the widespread popularity of computers, the incidence of “mouse hand” is increasing, and the trend is younger. The frequency of use of the computer mouse is very high. Two buttons, a scroll wheel, modern young people do not know how to operate, and familiar with, play with a slithering turn. Frequent repetitive operation of the mouse, often make the wrist, arm joint paralysis, swelling, pain and other symptoms, over time, there will be “mouse hand”, is mentioned in the relevant chapters earlier in this book, “carpal tunnel syndrome” common name. So, how do we prevent it?  First of all, to natural, coordinated, correct operation of the mouse; in the use of computers to maintain the correct sitting posture, which is the most fundamental and most effective way. Keyboard should be placed in front of the user position, keyboard and mouse position should not be too high, in the arm naturally down, the elbow plane is the height of the key, mouse placement.  Second, pay attention to the combination of work and rest. After an hour of continuous use of the mouse, should be appropriate to rest for a quarter of an hour, activities of the wrist and shoulder, which is often more important for the game users. Should avoid overnight fierce battle.  Third, usually pay attention to the opponent’s warmth and cold, avoid finger and wrist injury, strengthen the finger wrist function practice. This is the key to prevent and control the “mouse hand”. Methods are: (1) hand-held bottle exercise. Hand holding a certain weight objects, such as water bottles, palm up, wrist flexion, back extension movement for 5 minutes, exercise wrist strength, to prevent wrist pain and bone spur growth.  (2) Hand-held tennis ball exercises. Hold the ball wrist extension, flexion each 30 times, is conducive to enhancing wrist strength and upper limb coordination.  (3) Both hands fingers with the middle finger as the center, force inward and outward each 20 times, can improve the blood circulation of the hands.  (4) mutual rubbing exercise. Fingers of both hands cross each other, lightly knead for 5 minutes to improve finger flexibility.  (5) hands together, do up and down friction movement, until the palms of the hands slightly hot, to promote blood circulation.  Usual operation of the computer, such as can pay practical attention to the above aspects, mouse hand can be completely prevented. But if long-term I do what I do, ignore, it may lead to nerve damage, palm numbness, muscle degeneration, dysfunction, the consequences are very serious, and then treatment will be very difficult.
