Baking soda cannot remove spots because the main component of baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, which is an alkaline substance. If this alkaline substance is used on the spotted skin area, it cannot remove the spots, but at most, it can only remove the dirt on the spotted skin area. Because this ingredient is mainly alkaline, it is unable to remove spots. The spots on the face or other parts of the skin mostly appear above the basal cell layer of the skin, especially the melanin produced by melanocytes, which is usually mainly above the basal cell layer, but rarely occurs in the stratum corneum. So if it is used to remove spots, it is better to use laser, or other physical treatment methods, there is no basis to use baking soda.
