What’s wrong with me? I’m tired, I’m sleepy, I’m short of breath.

Shortness of breath may be caused by physiological factors, such as overwork, poor sleep quality, etc., and may also be caused by pathological factors, such as acute myocarditis, hypoglycemia, hypothyroidism and so on.
1. Physiological factors: due to overwork, poor sleep quality, etc., the body does not get enough rest, easy to appear weak and sleepy shortness of breath symptoms. Usually, the symptoms can be improved after sufficient rest.
2. Acute myocarditis: acute myocarditis patients, if the damage to the myocardium, can cause a decrease in myocardial contractility, decreased cardiac output; if the damage to the cardiac conduction system can be caused by atrioventricular block and other cardiac arrhythmias, which can lead to the patient’s symptoms of shortness of breath and drowsiness.
3. Hypoglycemia: hypoglycemia can be caused by insufficient intake of sugar or excessive consumption of sugar. Sugar is the main energy-supplying substance of the body, and when blood sugar is low, it can’t supply the energy needed for normal physiological activities of the body, which leads to the symptom of shortness of breath and drowsiness.
4. Hypothyroidism: patients with hypothyroidism have a decrease in thyroid hormones, a decrease in sympathetic excitability, and a decrease in systemic metabolism, which can lead to the symptoms of drowsiness and shortness of breath, and is often accompanied by weakness of the limbs and slow reaction.
After the exclusion of physiological factors, patients who still frequently experience symptoms of drowsiness and shortness of breath should consult a doctor for standardized treatment in order to avoid delaying their condition.
