What does a well-filled bladder mean?

Patients will hold urine during a clinical ultrasound examination, and when held to a certain level, a specialized ultrasound-guided examination can be performed. A well filled bladder means that the bladder is in a physiologically good stage and that the bladder forcing muscles are compliant and therefore will expand completely to produce a normal bladder pattern. If the bladder is pathologic, this can lead to changes in the internal mucosa or bladder compliance, such as bladder fibrosis or inflammation of the bladder, which can lead to incomplete bladder filling or in neurogenic bladder, which can lead to overfilling of the bladder due to weak contraction of the bladder forceps, usually with significant thinning of the bladder wall on ultrasound, so a well-filled bladder represents a normal test result. There is no need for special concern or treatment.
