What to do if you have pus in your ear

Pus in the ear is usually caused by the following reasons: 1. If there is a boil in the ear that produces pus, it is not a big problem. If the pus flows out, the pus can be washed off and wiped with iodine volts, or you can eat antibiotics to press down the inflammation; 2. If the mycobacterial infection is accompanied by bacterial infection, there can be pus in the external ear canal. Eliminate; 3. If otitis media causes pus, usually the periosteum has been perforated and needs to be treated with medicine first and then clean the ear. If middle ear infection causes more pus in the external ear canal, you need to go to the hospital once a day to clean your ears, and then take anti-inflammatory medication orally with antibacterial agents. After a period of treatment, simple otitis media will usually be fine. If there is still pus in the ear, you should consider having a CT examination of the ear to rule out osteochondritis or otitis media with cholesteatoma. Osteomalacia and cholesteatoma otitis media require surgery, especially cholesteatoma otitis media, which may lead to brain complications if not operated. Because cholesteatoma-type otitis media destroys bone, it can cause abscesses in the neck. If the damage goes inward and upward, it can cause a life-threatening brain abscess. Therefore, after treatment, if the pus still does not heal easily and is accompanied by a foul odor, a CT diagnosis should be made and surgery is required if necessary.
