Does it matter if the EMG is slightly diseased?

Slight EMG lesions can be seen in physiological factors and disease factors, physiological factors are generally not important, while disease factors should be emphasized, such as polymyositis, peripheral neuropathy and so on.
1. Physiological factors: if the patient has recently carried out a large amount of exercise activities in the lower limbs, resulting in muscle strain, EMG can be seen as a slight lesion, which is a physiological manifestation, through rest will return to normal, it does not matter.
2. Polymyositis: this disease is a kind of inflammatory disease with immune abnormality, characterized by symmetrical weakness of limbs, difficulty in lifting arms or legs, and dyspnea if it involves the respiratory system. Electromyography can indicate myogenic injury, even if it is a mild lesion, it needs timely treatment.
3. Peripheral neuropathy: such as ulnar nerve injury, sciatic nerve compression, etc., may appear EMG mild abnormality, such as slow conduction velocity, F-wave can not lead, etc., generally given symptomatic treatment can be relieved, but do not pay attention to, the condition can be further aggravated, and in severe cases, there are symptoms of weakness, muscle atrophy.
The minor lesions of EMG should be taken seriously, and the cause of the disease should be clarified and treated in a timely manner by completing the auxiliary examination under the guidance of the doctor.
