What does it mean to have a thyroid isthmus nodule?

Isthmus nodules indicate the presence of thyroid nodules in the isthmus of the thyroid gland, which may be benign or malignant.
Thyroid nodule is a kind of limited mass in the thyroid tissue, the thyroid gland is divided into isthmus and both lobes, thyroid isthmus nodule indicates that there is a thyroid nodule in the isthmus of the thyroid gland, most of the patients with thyroid isthmus nodule may have no obvious clinical manifestations, if the nodule is large, it may produce pressure symptoms, resulting in the patient to have a hoarse voice, difficulty in swallowing, dyspnea, and other symptoms.
