How long does a dental implant take?

The restoration time for dental implants depends on the patient’s treatment plan. Simple dental implant restorations usually take about 4 months and complex ones may take up to 1 year or even more than 1 year. If the patient has a very good bone condition, the implant will only need to be placed in the alveolar bone and then given 3 months of osseointegration time. After 3 months, when the implant and the bone have completed their biological integration, the upper implant restoration can be performed. The implant restoration takes about half a month to one month. In some complex implant cases, the same treatment as in simple cases is needed, giving 3-6 months for osseointegration. After the implant is stabilized in the bone, the patient needs to wear a temporary prosthesis to adapt to the temporary prosthesis, and after the patient’s nerves, muscles and bone are stabilized, the entire oromandibular system reaches a relatively stable state and the patient is satisfied with the form and function, then the final restoration is performed. The duration of the process varies.
