Contraindications to hyperbaric oxygen mainly include active bleeding, increased blood pressure, infectious diseases, pregnancy and so on.
1. Active bleeding: if the patient suffers from active bleeding without treatment, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not allowed, otherwise the condition may be aggravated.
2. Increased blood pressure: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not recommended when the patient’s blood pressure suddenly increases to avoid causing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents.
3. Infectious diseases: If the patient suffers from tuberculosis, influenza, new coronavirus pneumonia, it is not recommended to use hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and should be isolated in time for treatment.
4. Pregnancy: If hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used in pregnancy, it may increase the incidence of fetal malformation.
Doctors will choose whether or not to perform hyperbaric oxygen therapy according to the patient’s condition; if the patient feels sick during or after hyperbaric oxygen therapy, he/she should consult the doctor for treatment in time so as to avoid delaying his/her condition.
