Many diseases stalk us unknowingly, causing serious harm and disturbance to the daily life of our friends. Many of these friends are troubled by aspirin intolerance triad, so what makes us suffer from aspirin intolerance triad? Aspirin intolerance triad is an unexplained hyper-reactive disease of the whistling tract. These patients often have nasal polyps and bronchial asthma. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin and anti-inflammatory pain, can often trigger rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose), asthma attacks, and may be accompanied by urticaria and angiohematoma. Experimental immunological studies and clinical examination have confirmed that the disease is not related to allergic reactions. It is now widely hypothesized that a shift in cell membrane arachidonic acid metabolism, producing excessive leukobriene (LTS), is the main link in the development of the disease. LTS is both a strong bronchial smooth muscle contraction factor and a biologically active inflammatory mediator, of which LT4 has high chemotactic activity on eosinophils. The cytotoxic substances released by the latter (mainly alkaline proteins) not only cause damage to the mucosal epithelium and increase its sensitivity, but also disrupt the innervation of the walls of the small vessels in the nasal mucosa, causing dilatation and increased permeability of the small vessels, exacerbating tissue edema and contributing to the formation of polyps. The prevalence of this disease is mostly seen in adults, and because patients often present to internal medicine and otorhinolaryngology separately based on their symptoms, the prevalence figures reported by various sources are inconsistent. poole et al. (1985) provided a set of figures for otorhinolaryngology that about 20% of patients with nasal polyps were intolerant to aspirin, while those with nasal polyps with asthma were 30%-40% intolerant to aspirin and unselected asthmatics 10%. The above is a brief introduction to the causes of aspirin intolerance triad. If you have aspirin intolerance triad in your life, you must go to a regular hospital to receive treatment care and not take your health lightly. I wish you all a happy life!
