Can syphilis be treated with penicillin?

Patients with syphilis can be treated with penicillin. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by syphilis spirochete infection. Penicillin is preferred for treatment, and commonly used drugs include benzylpenicillin, procaine aqueous penicillin G, aqueous penicillin G, and so on. Syphilis spirochete is very sensitive to penicillin, and not easy to produce drug resistance, syphilis patients preferred long-acting penicillin for treatment, divided into two buttocks intramuscular injection, once a week, three consecutive weeks for a course of treatment. Common adverse reactions are allergic reactions such as causing skin rashes, and in severe cases, anaphylactic shock can occur, so skin tests must be conducted before using the drug. It is prohibited for those who are allergic to the drug. If the patient is allergic to penicillin, it can be replaced with ceftriaxone sodium. Penicillin can be used in patients with all stages of syphilis, and should follow the principle of early, adequate and standardized treatment. It is recommended to go to regular hospitals for standardized treatment.
