Hip pain can be caused by a variety of reasons. First of all, the most common cause is muscle strain and spasm in the hip and lumbosacral area, or being exposed to wind or cold, which is usually caused by sitting, standing or walking for a long time, resulting in poor circulation and metabolism in the local soft tissues of the hip, and the waste products produced by metabolism, such as lactic acid, cannot be discharged in time, causing soreness and pain. Secondly, due to muscle spasm, the jamming of the epicutaneous nerve of the hip can also cause localized soreness and pain in the hip, which can be accompanied by mild limitation of activities and inability to walk for a long time. Once again, chronic inflammatory activities of the sacroiliac joint can also cause soreness and pain. In patients with lumbar disc herniation, the numbness and soreness in the area dominated by the hip can be induced by the compression and stimulation of the sciatic nerve by the herniated lumbar disc, accompanied by unilateral or bilateral numbness and scurrying pain in the lower limbs, as well as abnormal skin sensation, etc. The diagnosis can be clearly made by CT or MRI of the lumbar spine. Patients should pay attention to rest, lie flat on a hard bed, avoid prolonged sitting, prolonged walking and exposure to wind and cold, and can be treated with symptomatic medication to relieve the condition.
