Cirrhotic ascites can be categorized as “bulging” in Chinese medicine. Clover leaf green cannot treat cirrhotic ascites (distention). It has a slightly bitter, pungent flavor and is cool in nature. It has the properties of clearing away heat and removing toxins, dispelling wind and resolving phlegm (expelling wind and resolving phlegm), and subduing swelling and relieving pain. It is used for whooping cough, high fever and convulsion, carbuncle sores and phlegm nuclei (subcutaneous lumps swollen up like nuclei), snake and insect bites and other diseases. Its adverse reactions, contraindications, precautions are not yet clear. This drug should be used under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.
