Green, pus-filled nasal discharge is usually not self-curable, and common causative factors include Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas odorata infections.
1. Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection: also known as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, immunocompromised people may be infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It usually manifests as green secretions, such as green pus nasal discharge, and may also present with symptoms such as edema and bleeding of the respiratory mucosa. Green pus and nasal discharge caused by this bacterial infection requires anti-infective treatment with sensitive antibiotics. It is difficult for this condition to resolve on its own.
2. Nasobacterium odoratum: Atrophic rhinitis is often the cause of this symptom. Nasal irrigation, intranasal medication and surgery are needed to control the disease. Systemic treatment is also needed to strengthen nutrition and improve environmental and personal hygiene. Supplementation with vitamins A, B, C, D and E is needed to protect the mucosal epithelium and increase the ability of the connective tissue to resist infection. This disease mostly cannot be cured by itself.
Green purulent nasal mucus may also be caused by other causes, it is recommended that the patient actively consult a doctor for systematic examination, and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment.
