Chlorpromazine is one of the first generation antipsychotics/traditional antipsychotics and belongs to the phenothiazine class. The dose range is 300-600 mg/d with a half-life of 24 hours. The drug can control psychotic symptoms such as excitement and agitation, hallucinations and delusions in schizophrenia or other psychoses. It can also be used for vomiting caused by various reasons such as uremia, gastroenteritis, cancer and drugs, and also for treatment of intractable reversal, and at the same time, it can prevent the occurrence of shock when used for hypothermia. The drug is also useful in the treatment of heart failure and gigantism.
