Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata is used in the treatment of disintegration of blood, deficiency of yin in the liver and kidney, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, bone vapor and hot flashes, night sweating and spermatorrhea, internal heat and thirst, dizziness, tinnitus, and premature whitening of the beard and hair. It is not recommended for people with weak spleen and stomach, stagnation of qi and phlegm, and fullness of abdomen and loose stools.
Maitong is used in the treatment of paralysis of the throat (redness, swelling and pain in the pharynx, or dryness, foreign body sensation, or itchy discomfort in the pharynx, difficulty in swallowing), sore throat, thirst due to injury of fluids, internal heat, thirst, heartburn and insomnia, intestinal dryness and constipation.
