It is often combined with Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae and Ophiopogonis to treat gastric yin deficiency (insufficient yin fluid in the stomach); it can also be combined with Ophiopogonis, Phellodendron Bidentatae, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparatae, and other heat-clearing and yin-supporting products to treat lung yin deficiency.
