How long does ovarian cancer usually take to form before it is considered early

Early stage of ovarian cancer is judged by the development of tumor rather than the specific time of formation. Ovarian cancer is a malignant tumor caused by many factors, such as heredity, gene mutation, etc. The specific stage of the disease is judged according to the primary tumor, the degree of lymph node metastasis and whether distant metastasis occurs. Commonly used is the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FLOG) staging, in which the early stage mostly represents stage I. This period represents that the tumor lesions are confined to the area of the tumor. In this period, the scope of tumor lesions is limited to ovary or fallopian tube, and it can be further divided into three stages, i.e., stage IA~C. In this period, due to earlier staging and more limited lesions, the tumor can mostly be treated by radical surgical resection, and after active treatment, the five-year survival rate can reach 90%.
