Parkinson’s disease does not usually present with shortness of breath in the early stages and may present with shortness of breath in the later stages. Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative disease of the nervous system, and shortness of breath does not usually occur in the early stages, and hand tremors, decreased sense of smell, and sleep disorders may occur in the early stages. When the disease progresses to the middle and late stages, it often manifests symptoms such as motor retardation, cognitive decline, swallowing disorders, muscle tonus and postural balance disorders. In addition to shortness of breath in the late stages of Parkinson’s disease, there are many other diseases that can produce shortness of breath and dyspnea, such as coronary heart disease, emphysema and pulmonary heart disease. Patients with sudden symptoms of shortness of breath should seek prompt medical attention, complete relevant examinations, identify the cause and actively treat it.
