What is the sensation of spinning in sleep with eyes closed?

Vertigo is a clinical symptom of the central nervous system. Patients have motion hallucinations of themselves in relation to external objects, which can be manifested by seeing things turn when eyes are open or feeling themselves rotate or tilt when eyes are closed, mostly due to periventricular or vestibular center lesions. Periventricular lesions are mostly benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, which is related to position changes and is caused by dysfunction of the vestibular organs of the inner ear, and tends to occur when falling asleep, getting up, turning over or turning the head. Central vestibular lesions are mainly lesions of the brainstem and cerebellum, such as cerebral infarction and brain tumors, and their vertigo lasts longer than peripheral vertigo, around several hours, but is not accompanied by significant nystagmus and autonomic symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.
