Treatment of hernias consists of two main categories: surgical and non-surgical. Treatment is directed at the two main causes of hernia formation. Since the abdominal wall tissues are still developing in infants and children, non-surgical treatment is the mainstay (except in cases of complications). For adult hernia, conservative treatment can only provide temporary relief of symptoms, and no medication or hernia belt can cure hernia. The cause of hernia is a physical defect in the abdominal wall, and surgery is the only way to cure hernia, just as a torn shirt needs to be mended. Improper treatment is a waste of money, delayed condition, resulting in local tissue adhesions, anatomical unclear; serious hernia incarcerated or strangulation, life-threatening.
