What does it mean when a lymph node is not clear?

Poorly defined lymph nodes, meaning that the boundaries between the lymph nodes and the surrounding tissues are not clear, may be caused by chronic inflammation of the lymph nodes or metastasis of the tumor. Poorly defined lymph nodes may be caused by fusion of lymph nodes, which may result in reactive hyperplasia and fusion of lymph nodes due to inflammatory stimuli, and may be accompanied by pain when touched. If the lymph nodes have metastatic malignant tumors, the borders may be unclear, and the lymph nodes may become large, hard, and fused, making them less easy to push. In addition, diseases of the lymph nodes themselves, such as lymphoma, may also cause enlargement and fusion of the lymph nodes, which may be accompanied by fever and other symptoms. If the border is not clear in the patient’s examination report, attention should be paid to observation, and timely consultation is recommended, and further pathologic examination may be required.
