What to do if your gums are inflamed

Gingivitis is a type of periodontal disease that is mainly produced by the presence of irritants such as plaque and calculus around the teeth that irritate the gums. Once gingivitis has developed, the first thing to do is to remove these irritants. If it is limited to gingivitis, you can go to the hospital for scaling. Remove the plaque and calculus around the teeth with ultrasound, then rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide, apply iodine glycerin or Paregoric ointment to the gums, and then rinse with mouthwash. Commonly used mouthwashes include chlorhexidine solution, rehabilitative new solution and tinidazole solution, etc. The use of mouthwash can consolidate the effect of scaling, maintain the flora environment in the mouth and keep the oral hygiene. This will allow the gingivitis to heal and not progress further. If gingivitis is not controlled in a timely manner, then it will continue to destroy periodontal tissues and form periodontitis. If the gums are inflamed due to periodontitis, it is not only necessary to have a scaling but also a subgingival scaling. Therefore, periodontal diseases must be diagnosed early and treated early, so that they are controlled at an early stage and do not develop further, so that more serious consequences will not be formed at a later stage. So once the symptoms of gum inflammation appear, you should go to the hospital in time to get periodontal treatment. This will benefit the health of periodontal tissues.
