Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a group of lymphomas that are extremely heterogeneous. The reason why diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is said to be highly heterogeneous is because some low-risk diffuse large B-cell lymphomas can be cured by chemotherapy alone, while some high-risk diffuse large B-cell lymphomas have poor results, rapid disease progression, and shorter survival with the application of all currently available therapies.
Therefore, some patients can be cured with treatment and have a normal life expectancy, while some patients can be endangered in a short period of time due to rapid disease progression.
For such a heterogeneous group of diffuse large B-cell lymphomas, it is extremely important to stratify the prognosis prior to treatment, and the diagnosis and treatment of the disease needs to be guided by a physician.
